The series focuses around Cory Baxter, as he must adjust to living in San Francisco, California, to Washington, D.C., after his father, Victor Baxter, receives a job at the White House as the official head chef.

Ironic appreciation of Cory in the House online dates back to a 2007 video titled "TOP 27 ANIME BOOBS," featuring an edited version of the Cory in the House theme song synced to the Crashman's theme from Mega Man 2, followed by a similar clip with Sonic the Hedgehog 2's Hill Top Zone music and the theme from the Disney Channel television series Phil of the Future.
